The Resident Life Coach is a core role at Daymark, working direction with adult residents with intellectual, cognitive or development disabilities. Our coaching team instructs, guides and assists our residents with special needs learn independent living skills that promote a high level of health, well-being, engagement and growth.

Daymark Living is a groundbreaking campus where adults with intellectual, cognitive or development disabilities can live, learn, and thrive.  The campus sits on 40 acres near historic downtown Waxahachie and includes 28 cottages and community buildings for dining, fitness and education.

This position is a Summer position, to assist with camp programming, mid-May through September.  The Lifeguard will work during open pool hours (3 hour blocks of time). $14-15 per hour.

For those who fall in love with Daymark's residents, this summer position can convert to a part-time or full-time position after summer sessions as a Resident Life Coach!


Lifeguard duties include:
  • Open and close the pool down each day.
  • Monitor the pool chemistry and adjust as necessary.
  • Monitor pool-related activities closely throughout shift and identify any safety issues
  • Direct swimmers out of the pool in hazardous conditions
  • Monitor weather reports closely to ensure safety of swimmers
  • Organize and oversee pool parties
  • Provide swimming instruction as available
  • Maintain a clean environment in and around the pool
  • Provide assistance to swimmers when appropriate or necessary

Skills & Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must meet background checks as well as employability conditions of the Employee Misconduct Registry (EMR) and Nurse Aid Registry (NAR), as maintained by Texas Department of Aging and Disabilities (TDADS).
  • Current and valid Lifeguard certification
  • First Aid and CPR certifications
  • Experience teaching swim lessons desirable
  • 1+ years’ lifeguard experience preferred
